Take 3 Breaths + Change Your Body Posture

If you find yourself feeling impatient, overwhelmed, anxious, or upset, taking a few deep belly breaths and changing your posture is a simple way to shift your state.

How to do it

  1. Imagine your belly is a balloon. *bonus points for imagining the balloon is your favorite color.
  2. Inhale through your nose as you imagine filling your belly balloon with air. *To increase your awareness, you might rest a hand on your belly.
  3. Exhale through your nose, slowly deflating the ‘balloon’.
  4. Repeat two more times.
  5. Follow what your body wants, and make a change to your posture. *You might stretch your arms, or stand or sit or…
