A CONSCIOUS LIVING PRACTICE FOR TODAY – FEBRUARY 9
It is no use walking anywhere to preach unless our walking is our preaching. — St. Francis Of Assisi
ENJOYING THE PROCESS
One of the most important learnings in your year of living consciously will likely be this: The joy of the journey itself is not only a key goal, it is the goal. The outcomes of the journey, whatever they are, will always be in the zone of the unknown. While you’re getting to where you’re going, though, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the greatest show on earth, the moment-by-moment process of consciousness itself. I once asked a revered Tibetan lama to define his most important teaching. Without hesitation he said, “Richness. Richness means that every moment you are blessed with a free abundance of thoughts—the flow of consciousness itself. Who could ask for more?” I replied, “What you call ‘richness’ is the same thing that a lot of people think is driving them nuts.” The lama nodded, a sly smile forming on his lips, and said, “I know. Better to call it ‘richness,’ don’t you think?”
A CONSCIOUS LIVING PRACTICE FOR TODAY – FEBRUARY 9
As you go through your day, observe richness flowing through your mind, the free and abundant stream of thoughts. Observe richness in your body, the flow of sensation and feeling. Enjoy your riches as you use your mind and body all day long.
