Get Way Faster, Then Way Slower

Moving your whole body or your hands and arms at different paces such as very fast and very slow will give you a felt experience of expanding choice and momentum in your daily activities.

How to do it

  1. Go into an open space, or sit comfortably if you want to use just your arms and hands.
  2. Begin to walk (or move) fast as if you want to get somewhere quickly, such as catching a bus that’s leaving the station.
  3. Notice your experience of your environment and inner thoughts and feelings as you speed up.
  4. Gradually slow your pace way down.
  5. Notice your experience of your environment, inner thoughts and sensations as you decelerate..
  6. Begin to accelerate, then decelerate as you choose, noticing if there is a pace where you can notice yourself and also notice your surroundings.
  7. Assess your experience of your environment, inner thoughts and feelings as you shift through different paces.
  8. Notice any discoveries.
