Yes, and Add Appreciation

By responding to communication with a “yes” attitude and appreciation, you can add a boost of creativity and fun.

How to do it

  1. When responding to a speaker, find the content in what they’re saying that you can say “yes” to from you body.
  2. Take a few belly breaths as you notice what yes feels like in your body.
  3. Respond with an appreciation that adds to what the person has just said, such as, “I’m noticing a whole new direction in my thinking from the clarity of your description”
  4. Notice your aliveness and engagement.
